Are you running on stress, and struggling to find moments of ease and joy?
We want to talk about pleasure.
And no, it doesn’t have to do with sex.
Nope.
Were you taught that pleasure was selfish?
Or simply a luxury you couldn’t afford?
Stress is killing us, (literally, pumping cortisol has us burning the candle at both ends in fight-or-flight mode).
Choosing specific actions that give us daily pleasure is how we make the change. It’s a necessity, not a luxury. It’s how we move from pumping cortisol, to flooding our system with life-saving, feel-good endorphins.
Do you want to feel good more of the time?
In this video we’re sharing our top strategies for bringing pleasure into your life, and ushering the stress out the door… once and for all!

Today, we’re talking about how to reclaim pleasure for ourselves, and in the name of our daughters. As women in female bodies, we’ve so often received the message — overtly and covertly — that our bodies, built for pleasure, softness, strength, and life — are wrong, shameful, or dirty. And in turn, we’ve confused it to mean that feeling good — experiencing pleasure of any kind — is also wrong.
Isn’t it time we turned this on it’s head?

At a recent dinner at home my two girls and a friend of theirs started quizzing me about my first kiss… it quickly escalated and they asked EVERYTHING. It was so fun but what struck me was that they had no awareness that there is something between kissing and penetrative sex. The whole realm of pleasure wasn’t even on the radar! This is going to have to be an ongoing conversation! Thanks for the reminder and the cheer leading!
Tanja- thanks so much for sharing. You are so right that this is going to have to be an ongoing conversation about a very wonderful and complex subject! I am so thrilled that they felt so comfortable quizzing you about your first kiss… and EVERYTHING. What better source for them to get the information, right? So many kids either get it from each other (the blind leading the blind) or the Internet. Well done Mama!
